Equipment Assignments

Each of you will receive at least 2 servers that you will administer during the semester. It is your responsibility to make sure that they stay up and are functioning well. If you have any hardware issues, please see your instructor.

IP Allotment

Hopefully you have a vlan checked out to you on the VM farm. You will need to likely tell me what it is.

You can see which switch port and vlan that I assume your device is plugged into at this. You should double check that my csv file is correct. If not, unplug from the offending server and plug it into yours.

The csv file can be interpreted as follows:

6,18,campbell,2020

rack number, port number on switch, user, vlan

Please note that the port number probably differs from the assigned server number. (I.e. you may have been assigned switch 6-13, but it will have to be plugged into one of your assigned ports on the switch as given above)

Switch Ports

Your machines should already be plugged into the switch, please don’t mess with them ;-)
